Match The Offer

If you’re building a squeeze page that will redirect visitors to a specific website, its a wise idea to make sure your lead capture or squeeze page color scheme matches that of the site you are redirecting your visitors to.  If your new prospects submit their information to your capture page and then land on a radically different place afterwards they will be confused.  So again, try and keep the colors the same as your main website or main offer.

Don’t Use Too Many Colors

Using too many colors is a common mistake made by people who are trying to design their own squeeze pages or lead capture pages.  The use of too many colors is very distracting for your visitors, and makes it confusing as to what is important and what is not.  To keep your color scheme easy on the eyes don’t overdo it, and only use colors as accents on very important pieces of content, or for important text that must stand out.

Here is one FACT we can present to you about lead generation.  Do Nothing… You’ll Get Nothing!  If you’re reading this article, you’re a business owner or salesperson who wants to DO SOMETHING to ensure you’ve always got a fresh supply of targeted leads for your offer.

Lead Generation Tools You’ll Need

1. Your Targeted Offer – This is where many Entrepreneurs get it wrong.  If you want someones contact details you need to provide them with VALUE first.  They must believe you are someone who is providing something that may help them.  The easiest way to create an offer is to have some sort of a “give-a-way”.  You could write a short, simple report on your product, service or opportunity.  A report that addresses some of the problems people may experience that your service or product provides a solution too.  Whatever your offer is it must reinforce in your prospects mind that you are an expert in your field, and you’re genuinely trying to help them.
2. Lead Capture Pages or Squeeze Pages – Your lead capture page is where you’ll be showcasing your targeted offer, in exchange for your prospects details.  This is probably the most important part of your lead generation funnel because it’s your prospects entry point.  When somebody responds to one of your passive advertising methods we want them to come and visit this page.  It’s important to have this page created by a professional so you get the best conversion rates that you can and they can help you craft a targeted offer that will look attractive to your visitors.
3. Your Telephone -  We’ve mentioned this before Autoresponder only because it’s still one of the most powerful weapons in your sales arsenal.  When you are using your own lead capture pages the leads you receive will be in Real Time so it’s important to follow up with these prospects immediately… Strike while the Iron is hot!  Following up with your prospects quickly is key, don’t rely on Autoresponders alone.
4. An Autoresponder System - While you shouldn’t be relying on Autoresponders to make the sales for you, they are definitely an asset when it comes to keeping you in front of your prospects over lengthy periods of time.  After your prospect submits their information to your capture page you can continually drip information to them with your Autoresponder.  Daily, Weekly or Monthly emails can be sent on a schedule for continual followup.

Setting Up Your Passive Lead Generation Campaigns

To really be successful with lead generation the easiest analogy I can come with that people understand is to liken it to the commercial fishing industry… Seriously!

When you want to go out for a fun day with the family, some of you may hit a lake or a stream with a fishing rod, catch a few fish and have a good day.  The commercial guys couldn’t survive if they only had one rod or a 2′x 2′ square net to catch a few fish… Right…?  So instead, they catch as many fish as they can by casting WIDE nets or fishing with multiple lines.  You should be doing the same.

If you just concentrate on one of these methods, there is little chance you’ll see any success, you may get a few leads but you won’t be prospect rich yet.  Taking it to the next level would be to employ at least 5 or 6 methods of passive lead generation to your business.  The more “streams” of traffic you have or “ponds to fish in” the more fruitful your efforts will be.

Here Are The Passive Lead Generation Methods I Strongly Recommend:

It doesn’t matter what kind of business you’re promoting these methods of promotion are inexpensive, they are easy to implement so anyone can do them and they flat out work when applied consistently.

• Business Cards – The most basic tool, every Entrepreneur should have them… Please don’t design your own, have a professional do it.  Place your web address for your capture page on the card.  Hand them out to everyone you actually meet… Don’t employ the 3 foot rule handing them out to everyone breathing…  Only give them to people who may want them, having a nice, professional, even unique card will help people remember you when they need you.

• Vehicle Decals -If you’re a local business or a professional service provider in your community this is a MUST.  Vehicle decals are inexpensive and when done by professionals they look great and help build credibility in your brand.  Think of how many miles you drive in a day, week or year.  Do you read other peoples vehicle decals…? I know I always do…  Enough Said.

• Bulletin Boards - This might sound cheesy, but they do work.  In fact, I’ve gotten $2500 website design and marketing clients through community bulletin boards, pay careful attention to the ones around your community and get a flyer of some sort on each one.  If you don’t do it, it won’t work either.

• Video Marketing – You don’t necessarily have to record yourself, you could hire somebody to do a screen recording for you or a slide presentation that helps sell your services.  The video(s) can be uploaded to sites like YouTube and tagged with your keywords.  Once you’ve uploaded the video it’s there until you delete it, always working for you, helping bring new visitors to your sites and building online credibility for your business.

Every single passive method of advertising you do MUST direct your potential prospects to a lead capture page, or provide a phone number to respond to, preferably a 1-800# with a sizzle call if your company provides one.  The above methods described will cost you very little to implement and will help you start to develop a trickle of incoming prospects.

As your cashflow increases you can continue using these simple, passive methods and then slowly branch into more “Active” methods of lead generation which we’ll discuss in our next article.  Never underestimate the little things you can do locally that will help you generate interest for your business or services.

Real Estate Leads aren’t cheap to buy with some selling for as much $100 or more each!  Quite often, Agents are stuck with the cheap leads provided by their office or some slick marketing system they have been paying a small fortune for.   How are those solutions working out for you?

Don’t you think it’s time you learned how to keep yourself in a situation where you’ve got more leads than you can possibly handle at any one time…?  It’s the position every sales professional wants to be in.

The first tool you’re going to need is a professional lead capture page.  This is just a simple, one page website (sort of like a short commercial) on you and your services.  Interested prospects submit their contact details for you to followup with and hopefully land as new clients.

Provide “Immense” Value On Your Capture Page:  You are a Realtor, you are supposed to know your area inside and out.  You know the good areas, the bad areas, the entertainment, the schools, the shopping and everything else that is going in your neck of the woods.   Consider providing your visitors with a Free report or white paper like these examples below.

I am sure you can come up with something of value, buyers or sellers might be interested in…  This is a great way to make contact with new buyers, especially out of town buyers who are confined to doing most of their research on the Internet.

Personalize Your Page:  Most Real Estate agents have had professional photos taken and these should be displayed on your capture page.  They help build trust with your prospects and let them know you are a “real” person.  You’d probably never host an open house with a paper bag over your head, so don’t treat your website any differently.  Some agents will go the “extra-mile” and even record a short intro video introducing themselves and a little about how they can help you.  These are very personable sites and allow a visitor to immediately connect with you, without having to even speak with you.

Where Can A Real Estate Agent Advertise Their Lead Capture Page?

There are literally a ton of creative ways you could advertise your lead capture page and you should always have your eyes open for possibilities.

#1. Custom Car Decals:  You see Real Estate agents driving all over your town with their cars/trucks decked out in vinyl lettering and their contact info, but most make the mistake of sending potential prospects to their agency issued, MLS search enabled website.  Bad Move!  Everybody else is doing that already!!!  Instead you point your web address to your lead capture page, where potential prospects can request your Free report or whitepaper.  You’ve immediately shifted yourself from “just another Realtor” into the perceived local expert in your area.

I don’t know how many miles a day you drive, or how long you stay parked in front of houses as you show clients around etc… But this is a very inexpensive, “long-term” marketing strategy that can help you generate more leads for your Real Estate business.

#2.  Google Adwords:  If you’re marketing on a national level this might not be the best solution for you as it can be expensive.   However, if you’re marketing to a very small local area, or a specific city or town you can actually control those demographics through the Google system.  If you bid on the keyword “real estate agent” Google will only display your ad to searchers within your local area who type in “real estate agent”.  Once again, if you are offering something of immense value to your prospects such as a free report or whitepaper as suggested you will be uniquely positioned over many of your competitors.

*Tip  – Don’t overlook keyword phrases that include your city/area such as “xyz city real estate agent” or “real estate agent in xyc city”  This will help “out-of-town” searchers find you.

#3.  The Coffee News :   Many of you have never heard of this publication but it’s becoming more and more popular everyday.  You’ll find the coffee news at you guessed it, coffee shops, restaurants and other places where people tend to gather.  Watch for it in your town.  These powerful little newspapers pack a great punch and you might be dissapointed to find the spot in your area is already taken by another marketing savvy Real Estate agent in your area.  Ads run for 13 week periods and you get great local exposure, the cool part is it’s exclusive, meaning that once you get in, they won’t take another Real Estate advertiser until you cancel.

Search For A Coffee News Location Near You

Along comes the Google Adwords system to take the pain out of achieving that coveted top ten Google ranking.  If you’ve ever done a Google search then you’ve probably seen the row of ads along the top of the search results and the additional row of little box ads down the right hand column on your Google search results.  These are Adwords ads.  As an advertiser you can bid on specific keywords and phrases so that your advertisement will show up whenever someone searches for your specified keyword.  You pay anytime someone clicks on your ad.

This is traffic that is actively searching for what you have to offer.   It’s absolutely the best you can get.  So what would be the second best traffic that you can get?  Well it would have to be from a Google Adwords site targeted campaign.  What the heck is that you ask

Google has a program called Google Adsense.  Webmasters can signup for the Google Adsense program and they can willingly display Google Adwords advertisements on their website.  Google is smart and spiders their website and will serve ads directly related to the content.  So for example if the website was about Real Estate naturally Google would be serving ads related to Real Estate.  If the website was about Insurance then Google will display ads related to Insurance.  Google will display the ads that are most relevant to the websites content and this is an extremely good thing if you’re looking for some relatively inexpensive targeted traffic in a hurry.

With the Google site targeting program many people don’t realize that you can individually choose the websites that you want your advertisements to show up on.  This is an awesome feature because if you know and understand what sites you should pick you can literally have a gold mine of targeted traffic at your fingertips for much less than the cost of traditional SEO.

How do you know which sites are the best sites? 

It’s as simple as doing a few Google searches for keywords and phrases that are directly related to the product, service or opportunity that you are selling.  I will guarantee you that at least one of the websites you will find that is naturally ranked in the top ten will be serving Google ads on their website somewhere.   These are the sites you want to be advertising on, so keep note of their URL.

In a way it’s an indirect route to a top ten ranking for any keyword you want.  True it’s not going to be your website that is ranked in the top ten but your ad will be parked on a website that is!

When running a site targeted Google Adwords campaign it’s extremely important that you take advantage of the FREE Google Adwords conversion tracking tool.  It’s very easy to implement and only requires you to paste a very small piece of HTML code onto the “Thank You” or “Confirmation” page that a prospect would see after submitting to your lead capture page.

The Google conversion tracking will breakdown your actual conversion and cost per lead for all of the sites you might have your ad placed on.  It won’t take long for you to see which ads are pulling the best and which aren’t profitable.  Then you simply double up your spending on the profitable sites and drop the ones that aren’t.

Here are 5 reasons you may want to consider generating your own fresh sales leads.

Quality – When you purchase leads from a leads vendor you are buying a list of names and contact details that has been generated in a very generic way as to maximize the response rate of the lead generators advertising campaign. These leads aren’t necessarily generated from the most targeted means of advertising. They are presented with a very simple generic lead capture page selling them on the benefits of very generic service offerings…  Not necessarily selling them on any specific type of product or service. When you are following up with this calibre of lead you really don’t know what type of service they may be interested in… you’re left to sorting and this can be a time consuming procedure. Generating your own leads with a website you have control over changes the game.

2. Responsive – Leads that you have generated on your own are usually much more responsive than leads that you would have purchased from a leads vendor. Most likely they haven’t been contacted by several different marketers already and their name hasn’t been sold over and over again by some of the leads vendors out there. Any leads that you generate on your own are Real-Time – As fresh as you can get and they are exclusive to you (providing the prospect hasn’t submitted to other websites).  By simply controlling the advertising message displayed on your lead capture page you can custom tailor the leads you’ll be generating to your specific product or opportunity, be it Real Estate leads, Insurance leads, Network Marketing leads, Refinancing leads, or Credit Repair leads.

3. Real-Time Leads – One of the most popular reasons for a network marketer to generate their own leads is that you can receive them in real-time. This is especially powerful for people who are in the higher ticket business opportunities and they need the highest quality lead they can get. Your cost to generate your own leads will be your advertising costs and any other tools you may be using such as lead capture pages and/or autoresponders. When you are generating leads of the highest quality and you have semi-decent skills at speaking with them you will need less of them to enroll a customer, recruit a new business associate or list a new home.  This saves you time and saves you money. Both are very valuable in the fast paced world of  professiona sales.

These are just a few reasons you may want to consider learning a little more about generating your own leads for your specific product, service or opportunity.  It could make a difference in how effectively you market your program

Traffic Exchanges were all the rage a few years ago.  They did work extremely well at bringing visitors to your site.  Now with the introduction of so many auto-hitters it’s tough to see a response promoting with many of the traffic exchanges now.  There are way too many people promoting identical affiliate sites.  People just click away like zombies.   Promoting a lead capture page with the manual traffic exchanges can work ok for a few different reasons.

1.  Your lead capture page is unique.  MOST of the people using traffic exchanges are promoting their company issued affiliate sites.  You may see 50 or 60 of those same sites in a given week.  After that much repetition your not even paying attention to them anymore.

2.  Your entire lead capture page can be read in between 15-60 seconds.  This is usually the timer that is set on most manual exchanges.  This provides a huge benefit over your competition.  It may take someone 20-30 minutes to completely read through most affiliate sites.

3.  The course of action for the visitor is very simple!  If they want more info they need to just type in their contact information.

*Note - This is a great online advertising method if you don’t have any budget to get started.  This method only consumes your time.  It WILL generate leads but not always of the highest quality.  If you are promoting an entirely Internet based program then this method tends to work a little bit better.

 Lead Capture Page Method #2.  Pay-Per-Click.

Pay-Per-Click advertising can be a very cost effective method at generating traffic for a lead capture page.  Pay-Per-Click advertising is just as it sounds.  You pay for each click they deliver to you.  This is usually quite cheap starting at only $.01 per click with many different places.  Others like Google will charge a minimum $.05 per click.  With PPC advertising you need to create a list of keywords and phrases that are closely related to your site or product.  You would enter these into your PPC account.  Then depending on the amount you had bid for each keyword your ad will be displayed through their network anytime someone searches your term. 

Some phrases and keywords can be very competitive and really tough to get into with a small budget.  However, with that being said this method can be very effective because your reaching people at the exact moment that they are looking for your product or keywords.

Lead Capture Page Method #3.  Content Networks

Search engines like Google allow private webmasters to serve advertising on their websites.  Google can spider a website and determine exactly what kind of ads to run to match the content.  This is GREAT for MLM Lead Generation.  You can have your ad displayed on potentially hundreds of websites related to home business opportunities, network marketing etc..  As you are surfing the web looking for information about building your business pay close attention to the websites that you visit.  Are they serving Google or Yahoo ads?

If so, keep note of their URL and save it for later.  In fact if you look closely at my own site you’ll find Google ads placed throughout my article pages.  It’s a great way to earn a little extra revenue from my traffic.

Lead Capture Page Method #4.  3rd Party Websites

Here’s another quick and easy method to getting your website advertised online.  I suggest going to Google and doing some searches for keywords related to your market… (start a home business, network marketing information, Home based businesses etc…) Look at the sites that are ranked in the top 10 for the respective keywords… More often then not the webmasters realize their traffic is a commodity and will be selling their own advertising space.  They may be banner ads, text ads, sponsor links, newsletter ads, ezine ads, etc… (If they run Google Adsense ads note their URL it could come in handy later Most of them have lots of advertising options.

When you pick these highly ranked sites you can bet that if YOU found them under a keyword string containing “start a home business” that 1000′s of other people are finding them under those searches too. This is targeted traffic.  The strategy above is a fast and easy way to piggy back your way into the search engines letting someone else do all the work for you.
Lead Capture Page Method #5.   Forum Posting.  Free & It Works.

 Forum posting is definitely time consuming but has proven itself as one of the most effective free methods of generating real targeted traffic to a site.  It’s as easy as finding a forum or discussion board related to your industry and then start contributing to the discussions.  There are several for the MLM/Network Marketing industry.  When joining the forums please pay careful attention to your signature file.  In most cases this is the only way you can advertise.  A signature file is just a blurb that you create that will be at the tail of every one of your posts.  You can include your website URL as well.  Add to conversations whenever you can or just start asking questions.   The amount of traffic will not be staggering if you only post in one forum.  Become active in a few different forums and be sure to read the posting rules.  Before you start to post.

Method #1. Flyer Distribution Done Anonymously

Flyers distributed in the right manner can be an effective way of collecting local leads.  The process is quite simple.  Make up a one page flyer describing the key points of the business.  You can usually just copy this from your capture page.  On the flyer I would allow some room at the bottom for you to cut “tear off” strips and on those strips include your lead capture page URL.  Good places to put these flyers abound.  I would start with public bulletin boards. We have several in our small town at places including convenience stores, post office, grocery store, liqour store and others I haven’t even found yet. There are also posting boards at local college or university campuses.  Like any advertising method you need to commit yourself.  If you were to put up just 10 flyers around your town in high traffic locations you will most likely develop some positive response. If you put 1 single flyer up and expected to generate leads then you need to re-think your strategy. Get exposure in as many places as you can. If you’re keeping track of your mileage and printing expenses it’s all a business write off. You can do your flyer route once a week, once a month or whenever you feel like it. It’s not silly, it does work. If it didn’t work those bulletin boards would be dead empty! and they never are!

*Note - This is a great idea if you don’t have a large advertising budget to get started with.  If you DO have an advertising budget then I would look at some other means.

Method #2.  Traditional Business Cards Work Too!

Most traditional businesses that have a website place their website URL on almost all of the stationary that leaves their office.  So should you.  If you have business cards that your distributing try placing your capture page URL on the bottom.  A lead capture page is a much softer sell  then sending them directly to your main affiliate site.  At least this way you know they are truly interested because they will submit their information.

*Note - This is something that every single one of my customers should be practicing… These are incredibly easy to give away to people and are usually readily received.  Because the benefits of your opportunity are clearly displayed on your lead capture page you don’t even need to mention it… Let the prospect check out your website and make their own “no pressure” decision.

Think if you had 1000 business cards made and you handed out 10 of them everyday…  That’s about 70 cards a week…

What would you do if you were able to generate 5 leads a week this way…?  That’s 20 new people every month to speak to…

Don’t delay… This is by far the EASIEST way to promote your capture page.  We all have a mouth and hands (well most of us anyways)  Get some made and start handing them out.

Method #3. How Many Miles Do You Drive?

What do you do when you see a car or truck with some form of corporate identity displayed?  Probably all the time.  You also probably always read what their slogan is or see if they have a website address.

Wouldn’t you like it if people were this curious about your business opportunity? 

Well then give them the chance.  And get your website address put onto your car with your own special slogan.  People can write down the address or remember it if it’s easy and submit their info through your lead capture page.  You can also write off a portion of your car, gas and insurance as a business expense.  Win/Win.

*Note - This is another very simple strategy that anyone can employ.  It’s not going to send  a river of prospects to your door but if you had some nice vinyl or magnetic decals made and drove around your daily commute/errands proudly displaying your business people are going to ask questions, people will visit your website and you’ll have another stream of traffic coming to the mouth of your lead generation funnel.

Method #4. Do You Read Any Local Papers ?

You probably already know that other people read them too. Small local papers with strong readership can be very cost effective advertising and you are not limited to just the local papers in your own area thanks to the Internet you can search out local papers from towns in your state or other areas that you might want to place ads in. Typically, the Business Opportunity/Business Franchise section works well but you are only limited by your own creativity!

*Note – The highest readership days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Classified newspaper ads combined with business cards and vehicle decals are an EXCELLENT way to get your lead generation campaign kick-started.  Keep your ad short and simple and to the point.  Something like

That’s a simple ad, let’s people know it’s commission based and that it’s a home business.

Do NOT overlook newspaper classified ads.  This is a time proven method of driving traffic to a capture page and it requires minimal experience and you don’t really need to learn any skills.
