Email
Tip # 1. Your Subject
Line.
This is a
very important factor in your email campaign. After all, someone opening
your email needs to be interested first.
Try to
stay away from offending or misleading subject lines. These are nothing
short of annoying and many people delete them as soon as they see them.
Not to mention most advertisers frown on people doing this.
Let your
subject line reflect your offer. If your selling the Greatest Health
Supplement Ever then you already have your subject line. Try to let the
reader know exactly what they will find inside. Sometimes a very
effective subject line can also be just your full-name and phone number.
People click out of simple curiosity and this method has worked well for me.
If your
doing a lot of safelist marketing you should try adding some tags around your
subject line. Instead of Greatest Health Supplement Ever you could use
(((______ The Greatest Health
Supplement Ever ______)))
By doing
this your centering your subject line and helping it to stand out.
Remember when safelist marketing your email is in amongst a few thousand
others. You need it to stand out.
Email Tip
# 2. Your Ad Content.
K.I.S.S.
Keep It Simple Stupid! You do not need to explain your entire
program in an email ad. And quite frankly nobody wants to read a
long-winded email advertisement. Do you?
Okay now that we have clarified that point I wouldn't bother doing any kind of
email promotion without a lead capture page. If you do your simply
kissing prospects goodbye with every mail you send.
When emailing a lead capture page to potential prospects you must keep your ad
short and simple. Aim for no longer then 5 - 10 lines of text.
Explain a few benefits about your product or program, possible income,
maybe even a personal testimonial if you have one. Be sure to include
your capture page URL.
Your ad is simply being used to get them to the capture page so there is no
point in telling them your life story. Get them to the lead capture page
and let it do the talking for you. Until they submit their information
and you have a Real-Time lead to follow up on.
Make Sure You
Spell Check Your Ad! Nothing is worse then reading an ad that looks like
a kindergartner drafted it up.
Email Tip
# 3. Your
Personal Contact Information.
This is crucial. And also an important aspect of keeping your email
campaign legal. CAN SPAM actually requires you to include your physical
address in any email advertisement you send. Not only does this keep you
legal but it let's other people know you are serious about your business and
not afraid to be contacted.
If you are squeamish about disclosing this information into your email
campaign I think you would have a better chance of being struck by lightning
then having some Internet Crazy try to find you.
We are in the business of Online Marketing, Not online chat rooms and
dating sites. Treat this like a real business. People need to be
able to contact you if they have questions. I consider myself a business
builder and I would never join a program or do business with someone that
looked like a fly-by night operation. The days of hiding behind your
site are coming to an end.
If you're proud of your product and you feel it's a legitimate opportunity then
let others know that too. Your confidence in the product and your advertising is not a bad thing :)
Put your
contact info in your ad.
Email Tip # 4. Reducing
& Eliminating Spam Complaints
Yes this can be done. Even with all the big scary laws out there
common sense, respect and good manners will help you avoid many SPAM
complaints.
-
Don't use
offending or misleading subject lines. This one should be obvious.
-
Don't fill
your ad with a lot of Hype. This annoys most people.
-
Include your
full contact details. If someone emails you for removal try to
respond quickly. And be polite. Apologize for the
inconvenience. And remove them from your list.
Most people will
respond positively just knowing their is a real person on the other end of
that email. And that you care.
