What Makes Google Adwords Different Even Better Than Overture For Lead Generation?

To those of you who don't know Google and Overture actually are very similar in many ways.

With both companies you are going to Pay-Per-Click on your ads. So anytime someone clicks on your ad you will need to pay whatever you had bid on that particular keyword. Thats the general idea of Pay-Per-Click.

Google has taken it a little farther though and for lead generation campaigns, I feel Google is the better option for a number of reasons.

So what makes Google Different?

Well... Here Goes..

Let's say you and I want to each run a lead generation campaign. To start with we have chosen Overture. We both want to advertise under the keyword "Home Based Business". (Not a good choice but good for this example)

I write my ad and place my bid at $.50 cents per click... You go and write your ad and then place your bid at $.60 cents per click.
You have outbid me for our particular keyword phrase and thus your ad will be ranked above mine everytime. Until I have outbid you.

It's like a never ending battle... And can drive the prices sky high.

This is why I REALLY love Google.

Read this and read carefully.

In the above situation we talked about the Maximum bid always reigning supreme in Overture. The only way to knock them out is to outbid them and for most of us that's not a realistic situation. Some of these Internet Marketers have really deep pockets.

Google has a solution for the "little guy".  You See... With Google It's not really the Highest Bidder that wins. Your ad position is actually based mainly on your Ads CTR. (Click Through Rate).

Let's say your Google ad had 100 impressions.. (It's been shown 100 times) And 7 people clicked on it.

That would be considered a 7% CTR (Click Through Rate) The higher your CTR goes the less you will be paying for clicks and the
better position your ad will have.

Often people ask me HOW can I get my Google Adwords ad to be one of the TOP two sponsored listings. And the answer is you cannot BUY that spot.  You need to EARN it with good ad performance. This is why anyone who "understands" and knows how to manipulate Adwords to their advantage is worth their weight in gold.

Some other reasons why I like Google so much...

1. With Overture you are looking at a lengthy delay to get ads approved. (unless you pay the fast start fee $199) With Google Adwords you will have your ads running within minutes.

2. Google has MORE traffic. I have promoted my sites on BOTH Google and Overture. There is obviously a GOOD reason why I stopped using Overture. It Wasn't Making Me As Much Money As Google. Is that good enough?

The above reasons are extremely important to an advertiser and especially anyone running a lead generation campaign. During the course of a lead generation campaign you may need to tweak, test and change things a little. With the lengthy delay Overture has in ad circulation it could cost you money and most importantly could sacrifice some of your results.

I am not saying that Overture sucks. But I am saying that I have FAAAAR more good experiences with Google Adwords and my clients and I make many more sales because of it.
