Proper Keyword Research For Your Lead Generation Campaigns.

Are you planning on a running a lead generation campaign using Pay-Per-Click advertising?

Complete and Proper keyword research is going to be the foundation of your lead generation campaign.

You See... The Beauty of Pay-Per-Click advertising is that you can determine what "Searches" your ad will be displayed for. And then you only pay when someone actually clicks your ad.

Another reason why Keyword Research is important to the success of your lead generation campaign. If you are paying everytime someone "clicks" on your ad you want to make darn sure that you have selected the "right" keywords don't you?

So here are some tips and tricks that I use everyday when I am compiling and constructing keyword lists for MLM or sales lead generation campaigns.

1. Stay Away From The Obvious! - Everybody else has already thought of these! I am being serious... Let's say for example you are generating leads for a "Home Based Business" This is an extremely competitive keyword phrase and one that people are bidding $1, $2 even $3 or more per click! You'll find that you will be competing amongst tens of other advertisers.

Don't get me wrong. You may be able to generate leads off of these keywords but only if you have DEEP pockets and a KILLER landing page.  Most people do not have the budget to compete effectively in these competitive lead generation markets..

You are far better to use a keyword research tool such as GoodKeyWords or KeywordLocator to dig deep and discover
niche words and phrases that aren't searched quite as often but they are no less targeted.

2. Look At Your Competitors! - The names and search phrases related to "other" companies and products in direct competition
with your own business are great keyword phrases to be found under. These people are looking for a closely related product which would make them ideal traffic for your lead generation campaign.

With a well written ad and professionally designed lead capture page you can actually generate an overwhelming amount of leads just using ONE or TWO of your competitors keywords. This method is that powerful and some of your competitors may getting thousands of searches every month for their products or opportunity.

3. Group Your Keywords And Phrases! - Yes... A Great Keyword list is a well organized keyword list. What I mean by organizing is that you keep all like phrases and terms together in groups. (I'll tell you why later) By grouping your keywords you will have "tighter" groups of keywords that you can write a targeted for each individual group. This will greatly help the "relevancy" of your campaign and will result in more conversions.

4. Look "INSIDE" Your Products Or Opportunity - Many times you'll find a wealth of keywords to use if you look "into" your
products or opportunity.

For example... Let's say you want to generate health & wellness leads. You could start by listing each and every ingredient within your product. Each ingredient represents a keyword group that could have plenty of phrases people are searching.  More often than not these keywords are NOT bid on many advertisers which means you can acquire cheap clicks on super targeted traffic.

The same would work with a tangible product... Not health related... Think about the "Problems" the product solves and you will again find yourself opening a whole new can of keywords and phrases!

While I kept this article very brief I am trying to stress to you the importance of a properly compiled keyword list when you are thinking of undertaking any lead generation campaign.

Some important tools to aid you in your keyword research are

1. GoodKeywords.Com - Free Keyword research tool. Digs into the overture suggestion tool to show you how many
times a particular keyword or phrase has been searched. It will also present you with all search variations containing the specific keyword(s) you specify. If you are just getting started with Pay-Per-Click lead generation then this tool will suffice. (I used it for months)

2. KeyWordLocator.Com - Not only does it deliver keyword suggestions it actually shows you how many advertisers there are per keyword phrase,  What their headline is, What their URL is and for Overture, Looksmart and Findwhat it will even tell you how much people are paying per click! I used to have to manually go and search through Google to find my competitors but NOT ANY MORE! If you are running any type of lead generation or sales campaign through Pay-Per-Click this will save you time. Time = Money.

3. GoogEdit.Com - After you have compiled your keyword list you'll need to scrub it clean of duplicates and make sure you have
included all the proper keyword tags. Thats no problem at all with this little piece of software. In fact it will take your entire keyword list and at the click of a button will create a whole new list clean of duplicates and complete with all the [Exact Match, "Phrase Match" and Broad Match keywords.

I hope you find this article useful when compiling your next keyword list.
