Here are 4 simple and affordable “offline” advertising methods any home business person could use to generate leads if they are just getting started with the promotion of their capture pages.
Method #1. Flyer Distribution Done Anonymously
Flyers distributed in the right manner can be an effective way of collecting local leads. The process is quite simple. Make up a one page flyer describing the key points of the business. You can usually just copy this from your capture page. On the flyer I would allow some room at the bottom for you to cut “tear off” strips and on those strips include your lead capture page URL. Good places to put these flyers abound. I would start with public bulletin boards. We have several in our small town at places including convenience stores, post office, grocery store, liqour store and others I haven’t even found yet. There are also posting boards at local college or university campuses. Like any advertising method you need to commit yourself. If you were to put up just 10 flyers around your town in high traffic locations you will most likely develop some positive response. If you put 1 single flyer up and expected to generate leads then you need to re-think your strategy. Get exposure in as many places as you can. If you’re keeping track of your mileage and printing expenses it’s all a business write off. You can do your flyer route once a week, once a month or whenever you feel like it. It’s not silly, it does work. If it didn’t work those bulletin boards would be dead empty! and they never are!
*Note – This is a great idea if you don’t have a large advertising budget to get started with. If you DO have an advertising budget then I would look at some other means.
Method #2. Traditional Business Cards Work Too!
Most traditional businesses that have a website place their website URL on almost all of the stationary that leaves their office. So should you. If you have business cards that your distributing try placing your capture page URL on the bottom. A lead capture page is a much softer sell then sending them directly to your main affiliate site. At least this way you know they are truly interested because they will submit their information.
*Note – This is something that every single one of my customers should be practicing… These are incredibly easy to give away to people and are usually readily received. Because the benefits of your opportunity are clearly displayed on your lead capture page you don’t even need to mention it… Let the prospect check out your website and make their own “no pressure” decision.
Think if you had 1000 business cards made and you handed out 10 of them everyday… That’s about 70 cards a week…
What would you do if you were able to generate 5 leads a week this way…? That’s 20 new people every month to speak to…
Don’t delay… This is by far the EASIEST way to promote your capture page. We all have a mouth and hands (well most of us anyways) Get some made and start handing them out.
Method #3. How Many Miles Do You Drive?
What do you do when you see a car or truck with some form of corporate identity displayed? Probably all the time. You also probably always read what their slogan is or see if they have a website address.
Wouldn’t you like it if people were this curious about your business opportunity?
Well then give them the chance. And get your website address put onto your car with your own special slogan. People can write down the address or remember it if it’s easy and submit their info through your lead capture page. You can also write off a portion of your car, gas and insurance as a business expense. Win/Win.
*Note – This is another very simple strategy that anyone can employ. It’s not going to send a river of prospects to your door but if you had some nice vinyl or magnetic decals made and drove around your daily commute/errands proudly displaying your business people are going to ask questions, people will visit your website and you’ll have another stream of traffic coming to the mouth of your lead generation funnel.
Method #4. Do You Read Any Local Papers ?
You probably already know that other people read them too. Small local papers with strong readership can be very cost effective advertising and you are not limited to just the local papers in your own area thanks to the Internet you can search out local papers from towns in your state or other areas that you might want to place ads in. Typically, the Business Opportunity/Business Franchise section works well but you are only limited by your own creativity!
*Note – The highest readership days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Classified newspaper ads combined with business cards and vehicle decals are an EXCELLENT way to get your lead generation campaign kick-started. Keep your ad short and simple and to the point. Something like
“Earn Great Commissions”

That’s a simple ad, let’s people know it’s commission based and that it’s a home business.
Do NOT overlook newspaper classified ads. This is a time proven method of driving traffic to a capture page and it requires minimal experience and you don’t really need to learn any skills.
